Fear is always a wonderful thing to talk about, huh? Anyway, what are you guys afraid of, and why?
I am afraid of octopi, squids (or any mollusk really...), jellyfish, worms, devilfish, and.. well, basically anything in ocean water.

Things that are in the dark. Not really the dark itself, but what might be lurking in it. ...and bugs. Anything creepy crawly. D:

I don't really have a phobia of anything, but I certainly hate dead bugs of any kind. I hate bugs, too, but especially dead ones.
I love spiders though, but scorpions creep me out. My best friend works at the local reptile zoo and he goes, "yeah, you can hold the snake," so I hold the snake. He goes, "yeah you can hold the turtle," so I hold the turtle. He goes, "Wanna hold a scorpion?" NUH-UH, no sir.

Lira, you crack me up. XD
Hm, phobias... For one, I honestly have a sprinkler phobia. One tried to cut my neck open, I swear. There's a whole story to it. I don't like anything touching the side of my neck, either, or I panic. Then, there's a thingyer spaniel phobia, brought about because one tore my lip open. I later was told by the surgeon that they have the highest rate of bites, that breed.
Those were the specifics that aren't OCD related phobias. Otherwise, I'm paranoid about germs and stuff regarding hygiene that are typical with that disorder. In school, I used to kick the doors open as often as possible. X)
There's probably more that I can't think of right now. Oh! Like glitter found on cards! Just remembered that. You should see me handle cards like that. I have someone else open them, and I refuse to touch 'em. XD If the glitter gets on me, I have to wash my hands repetitively or wipe them all over something. Anything. I guess that's very silly of me.
By the way, very interesting topic, Monica!

Hey, thanks.
I can understand my fear of jellyfish easy enough. I was on a school field trip to the aquarium, and they lost me in the fellyfish room. I decided to stay there, so when they went back to look for me it would be easier, so I spent some "quality time" with the jellyfish. I starting thinking about how many stingers were really around me, what would happen if all of the glasses broke since there were so many jellyfish, and by the time I rejoined the group I loathed jellyfish.
Octopi and squids, I have no idea why I am so afraid of them. I just know I flip out if I so much as see one. My mother showed me a clip recently of the vampire octopus, and i just kind of froze in fear of them. Heh heh.
I used to be afraid of public speaking, but I'm not really afraid of it anymore. I decided I had to overcome that fear. A fear of octopi doesn't really come into play often, so I don't see myself getting over that one.

"I started thinking about how many stingers were really around me, what would happen if all of the glasses broke since there were so many jellyfish, and by the time I rejoined the group I loathed jellyfish."
Stuff like that is very common, when your mind will start running with an idea and just amplify the developing fears. I know I do that, too sometimes. It's good that you got over your fear of public speaking, though.

I'm terrified of needles. Since I've always been a sickly girl I used to get a lot of shots when I was younger (and they were alwys in I disagree D: ) so I guess that's where it came from. But my dad is diabetic. I won't go into my parents' bathroom because I know his needles are in there. And if there's a box of them sitting on the coutner in the kitchen (like if my mom jsut bought them) I won't let them get out of my sight unless they leave the room. I can't handle it. But when I'm getting blood drawn if I can't watch it I go berserk. I know it's coming, but I don't know when or how fast and I want to be able to see. Makes it worse they, I don't care.
Another thing is just pain, period. They only pain I can stand it bruises and candle wax.
Something else, my wrists. I had a friend that cut herself really bad and she had no problem with me seeing it. So after a couple of years of seeing those awful cuts I got paranoid about people or things touching my wrists. I can't even touch my own wrists. I'm so afraid that the vein there will pop or the weak bone will snap and get the vein. If someone grabs my wrist I just fall to the ground, feeling very sedated.
^_^; I don't really fear any animals. But I can't stand at the stern of a ship. I used to when I was on cruises and just stare at the water. Then I'd start thinking about what would happen if I fell into the water near those HUGE propellers? And watching The Last Crusade when Indiana Jones and that guy almsot get torn up by one just... ugh. I can't go to the stern of a ship unless I'm inside.
Yeah, that was a lot...

I'm sh*t scared of IVs, being trampled by a horse, and things that go bump in the night. Oh, and accidentally stabbing myself in the eye.
That's all, really.

My biggest fear is water. I don't want to drown in it ever, and I fear whatever lurks in the darkness of its depths. Scares the hell out of me. I also hate needles and pills. Needles, because people always mess them up. Pills, because I take too many now...and I OD'd once =.=;

I'm afraid of calling people on the phone, strangers, people touching me (especially near the forearms), people falling in love with me, and...well, I also hate needles, but after a rather recent and traumatic experience that made needles seem completely negligible, I no longer have a panic attack when I see one coming at me.
I want to kill someone with a blue-ringed octopus one day, though. Kekeke...

The only thing I can think of is the fact that I get really paranoid lately when it's pitch black where I am. I used to love the dark, but I still think my scarring experience with the movie Ju On from over a year ago triggered it. XD
